Learning that strengthens practice

NERPSA Learning is internal professional learning for employees, educators, teachers and leaders. Lessons connect NERPSA policies and workplace responsibilities with current early childhood requirements and practical decisions.

The aim is to strengthen professional judgement and practice that benefits children, families, colleagues and services.

How each lesson works

1

Read and explore

Work through the full lesson, examples, scenarios and supporting information.

2

Make the decisions

Apply the information to realistic situations and complete all required activities correctly.

3

Complete the reflections

Write every response in your own words and connect the learning to your role and practice.

4

Complete the assessment

Answer all eight questions and achieve at least seven correct answers. Review and try again if required.

5

Complete the declaration

Confirm that you completed the lesson yourself and that the responses are your own.

6

Save and submit

Generate the full record, choose Save as PDF and submit it through the Document Submission Form.

Your completion record

  • certificate and a summary of the learning covered
  • participant details and assessment result
  • your written reflections and identified actions
  • your participant declaration

Protect privacy

  • do not use children’s full names or family or staff names
  • do not include unnecessary personal, medical or employment information
  • use an approved child code or general description where needed
  • do not copy confidential records into a response

Submit the complete PDF

Use the NERPSA Document Submission Form from the Forms page in the NERPSA Connect App or Staff Resources website. This is the only acknowledgement required. Do not email the certificate or reflections separately.

Submit the complete document, not only the certificate page. Draft responses remain only in the same browser and device.

Current documents, mandatory responsibilities and real concerns

NERPSA Learning supports policies and procedures but does not replace them. Always use current policies from the NERPSA policy website and current forms, position descriptions and staff information from Staff Resources. If saved or printed information differs from the current approved online version, use the current online document.

NERPSA Learning is internal professional learning. It does not replace legislation, mandatory external training, qualification or VIT requirements, statutory reporting responsibilities, current policies or instructions from an authorised NERPSA manager.

If learning raises a real child safety, emergency, incident or conduct concern, do not record it only in a reflection or wait until the lesson is complete. Take immediate protective action within your role and use the required reporting and escalation pathways.

Saving work, assessment and completion record help

Draft written responses and participant details may be saved in the same browser and device. They may not be available on another device or after browser information is cleared.

If you do not achieve seven out of eight, review the relevant content and complete the assessment again. The completion record unlocks only after all decisions, reflections, participant details, assessment and declaration requirements are met.

If the completion record does not open after all requirements are met, allow pop ups for the Staff Resources website and try again. The certificate records internal NERPSA learning and is not an accredited qualification or statement of attainment.
